What is the difference between the TSX & the TSXV?

The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX), one of the world's largest exchanges, is the senior equity market in Canada. The TSX Venture Exchange (TSX.V) is Canada's public venture capital marketplace for emerging companies. (https://en.wikipedia.org/)

Listing requirements for the TSX are more suitable for more established corporations. Where as the TSX.V listing requirements are lower in order to allow for smaller/junior issuing corporations to access public capital markets.

The TSX.V is a fully regulated public exchange and can be seen as a stepping stone for junior issuers/corporations seeking to graduate to the TSX once they satisfy the TSX’s listing requirements. This is not unlike the AMEX in the U.S. being a path to the NASDAQ or NYSE for some companies.
